Wide Awakes
Wednesday, May 5th
4–5 PM, Gallery at NeueHouse
In Conversation with Hank Willis Thomas, Larry Ossei-Mensah,
Tracey Ryans and Tanya Selvaratnam
Born off of the back of the eponymous 1860’s civil rights movement, the Wide Awakes are a open-source network of artists and activists who seek to reimagine the future through creative collaboration.
Join artist Hank Willis Thomas, curator and writer Larry Ossei-Mensah, entrepreneur Tracey Ryans and writer/producer Tanya Selvaratnam as they discuss the origins of the movement and how art has played a pivotal role in rallying the community and pushing their mission forward.
